Customer-driven innovation
Before you invest in costly research and development, a process of customer-driven innovation allows you to eliminate all but the most viable concepts and to focus on creating products that have the best chance of succeeding in the marketplace.
At Achaleon we have adopted a proven approach to involve prospective customers in the innovation and concept evaluation process.
By involving customers so closely in the innovation process, we maximise the chances of uncovering strong needs and identifying real opportunities where those needs are not being adequately met.
> How it works
- Capabilities. We start by developing a clear, unbiased definition of your current products and capabilities, in order to frame the entire process.
- Competitors. We look thoroughly at the competitive landscape, so we can be clear what solutions are already available to your customers.
- Unfulfilled Needs. With our 'voice of the customer' process, we explore prospective buyers' actual wants and needs, including clear measurement of their relative importance.
- Opportunity. From the insight we have gathered, we lead a brainstorming and innovation process. Together we develop product concepts which target the strongest needs, for which there are currently only inadequate solutions.
- Testing. Returning to those individuals who expressed strong, un-served needs, we present these new innovations in order to gauge viability and obtain commitment to purchase. In this way you can obtain pre-production commitment before investing in costly development.
